Electric Bus Training: 6-7 November, Canberra
With most metropolitan areas targeting zero-emission environments, an increasing number of cities and transport companies are considering a fully-electric solution for their urban bus network. In this context, UITPANZ is offering members a two-day course in electric bus training, providing a comprehensive overview of the electric solution for urban bus networks, as well as practical strategies on key issues, including:
- Alternative fuel (hydrogen and hybrid)
- Impact on the local market and operations
- Life-cycle cost and procurement
- Fuel cell and battery technologies and charging infrastructure
- The power of data
The training will be led by UITP Global Bus Expert and Trainer and Senior Advisor Bus, Fongers Folio B.V., Jen Fongers and Deputy General Manager from Shenzhen Bus Group Joe Ma. The format incorporates the benefits of an intimate classroom setting combined with an interactive, thought-provoking agenda, filled with real case studies, panel Q&A's and group work.
UITP Asia Pacific Annual Meeting & Gala Dinner - 12 November, Canberra
Hosted by Transport Canberra, this event will provide UITP members' with a unique opportunity to connect, learn and network with colleagues from across the Asia Pacific region.
Together, we will share knowledge and experience, with a focus on the key issues of new mobility and MaaS, electrification, and automation. We will also look for ways in which UITP can continuously improve its service offering to members in the Asia Pacific, providing regional presentation updates, offering a year in review and a highlight of results from our various committees and working groups.
The Annual Gala Dinner that evening promises to provide delegates with a chance to connect, unwind and celebrate what is set to be a landmark gathering of public transport leaders from across the Asia Pacific region. This event is open to UITPANZ members only.
Young Transport Professionals' Seminar - 29 November, Melbourne
Technological disruption, rising populations, growth of the shared economy, and changing demographics are just some of the issues that will define the careers of young transport professionals. The 2019 UITPANZ Young Transport Professionals' Seminar in Melbourne will dissect these issues through the exploration of this year's theme, 'Mobility of the Future'.
The Seminar is designed for early-career professionals who are seeking to connect with other emerging leaders, and to learn from senior executives and transport experts. Most attendees are under 35 or have less than 5 years' experience.
