To provide excellent value to members and to help mature the transport sector in Australia and New Zealand, UITPANZ regularly offers a range of trainings and events on a range of issues. This includes the following headline events and training formats.

You can view our upcoming events here.

Public Transport Fundamentals Training Course

The 3-day Fundamentals Course provides transport professionals with a comprehensive introduction to the public transport sector, both in Australia/New Zealand and globally. Drawing on both the global reach of UITP and the local expertise of professionals in the region, the programme provides a foundational understanding of key issues and ideas in transport, aimed at young professionals, graduates, and more senior professionals new to the transport sector.

Dates for any upcoming courses will be published soon!

Australian Transport Summit

Now in its eighth year, the Australian Transport Summit continues to be one of UITPANZ and the Tourism and Transport Forum's most significant events and is Australia’s foremost public transport summit.

The theme for the 2019 Summit was Real Mobility: Connecting People, Places, Spaces. Our speakers and panelists explored areas of future mobility, planning for tomorrow and how major cities around the world are adapting to ensure that their public transport systems are accommodating the rapid rise of technology and consumer demand.

The Summit was able to bring together Government leaders, public and private sector experts and allow attendees to hear from and share ideas with key stakeholders in the transport portfolio.

As part of the Summit we welcomed  an amazing international speaker contingent to the event, which included senior representatives from LA Metro, Chicago Regional Transportation Authority and Toyota Mobility Foundation’s Asia Pacific region.

Master Classes

UITPANZ runs a regular series of Master Classes each year that is aimed at promoting knowledge exchange and best practice among members and non-members on topics that contribute to advancing public transport. Master Classes provide attendees a deep dive into key issues in the transport sector. Held over a half or full day, the format allows for a comprehensive examination and discussion of issues from a range of industry and government perspectives. Master Classes are held regularly throughout the year on a range of topics.

Young Transport Professionals’ Seminar

The annual YTP Seminar is designed to engage young professionals and emerging leaders in the transport sector and key issues and ideas that will define the future of mobility. The Seminar involves a wide range of presentations from transport authorities, operators, industry and academic institutions.

Our Young Transport Professionals Bursary, seeing two young professionals join us at the Global Public Transport Summit, is launched at YTP Seminars occurring in even years.

The next YTP Seminar will be held in Melbourne on 29 November. Click here for details.

Women in Mobility Dinner

Our Women in Mobility dinner series aims to bring together senior female leaders across public transport to connect and have a conversation about female representation in the industry. The purpose of this series is to acknowledge how far we, as an industry, have come but also recognise the work we still have to do in removing barriers and promoting women. Dinner's are held bi-annually and are for UITPANZ members only.

Tailored in-house training

UITPANZ is also able to tailor trainings to the particular needs of an organisation. For further information, contact us at anz.uitp@uitp.org
