Over 50 speakers and delegates assembled in Brisbane, Australia for the UITPANZ’s Marketing & Branding Master Class on Tuesday 5 May 2015. The event was hosted by local UITP member, the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR). Delegates were treated to a series of intriguing talks by some of the top marketing minds from Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Keynote speakers included Wietske Smith, Director of Customer Experience, DTMR – Translink Division and Maree Cotter, Customer Design Manager for Auckland Transport. Some common themes covered by speakers included the challenges in bringing multiple entities and organisation under a common brand, and the need to ensure that the customer experience of public transport matches the marketing promise. The day concluded with an interactive session where delegates had the chance to debate and discuss key themes raised during the day.
