Join us for a deep-dive into the important issues that will impact public transport service contracts as the world adjusts to a new normal under the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hear from Robin Gisby, Chairman at London North Eastern Railway, about the state of franchises in the UK pre-pandemic as well as what's happened during the pandemic. With the UK's Emergency Measures Act, the contracting model has been adjusted and there could be longer-term impacts for public transport franchising agreements.
He will be joined by Jeroen Weimar, Head of Transport Services at the Victorian Department of Transport, who will give an overview of contract arrangements in Victoria and share perspectives on the UK, where he previously worked in senior roles at First Group, Serco and Transport for London.
Emma Thomas, Partner in Infrastructure and Urban Renewal at PwC will contribute to the panel discussion and share her insights from delivering the first stage of Canberra's light rail and draw on her experience in the Queensland and South Australian transport authorities, in reflecting on what the opportunities are for operating and contracting models going forward.
UITP Australia New Zealand Executive Director Michelle Batsas will facilitate the panel discussion and also share insights from UITP members in our region and around the world.
